How to Show Related Blog Posts on Blog Single Page? (Based on Categories & Tags)

One effective way to increase user engagement and reduce bounce rates on your blog is by displaying related blog posts on your blog’s single post pages. When readers finish reading a post, they are more likely to click on related content that interests them. This not only keeps them on your website for longer but also improves your website’s SEO by reducing bounce rates.

With the help of the Blog Listing widget from The Plus Addons for Elementor, you can easily show related blog posts based on category and tags on your single post pages.

Requirement  – This widget is a part of The Plus Addons for Elementor, make sure its installed & activated to enjoy all its powers.

To create the single post template, you can use the free Nexter Builder or you can use Elementor Pro if you are already using it.

Now once you have created the single post template, add the Blog Listing widget and select Single Page Related Posts from the Post Listing Types dropdown.

You can choose the basis for displaying related posts by selecting an option from the Related Post Type dropdown. Here you’ll find three options – 

Based on Category – This will show related posts based on the post category.

Based on Tag – This will show related posts based on the post tag.

Both – This will show related posts based on category and tags together.

Select the option that fits your need.

Then select the appropriate style and layout from the Style and Layout dropdown, respectively.

Now you should be able to see related blog posts on a single post page based on category and tag.

Note: Make sure to use other single post widgets to ensure that your content is displayed correctly.

You can fine-tune the settings and style from other options.
